ABOUT ME
Originally from sunny California, I grew up in Apex, North Carolina. I am second generation Cuban-American; growing up as a Latina woman in the South I have developed my own perspective on culture and how different cultures are presented to the world through various forms of media. In an effort to widen Latina and minority representation, I plan to place myself squarely into this industry and do what I love. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill double majoring in Journalism and Political Science. Inclined to aid causes that deserve recognition and deserve to be given a voice, I plan on using my skills and my perspective to get involved in projects I am passionate about.
Through my experience at Carolina, I become passionate in community involvement and multimedia design creation. Working with Morehead Planetarium and Science Center and 1893 Brand Studio gave me insight into the importance of local community. When I was hired onto Durham County Library’s Marketing and Development team in August 2020, I expanded my knowledge of writing, creating, and marketing services for a local community. I’m a writer and photographer at heart who is also sufficient in shooting and editing video, creating interactive and informative design content, and copy editing with the best of them. I work best behind the camera/computer and am constantly looking to improve my multimedia skills. If you want to help my future endeavors in multimedia design and the expensive cost of equipment please visit my GoFundMe page.
I am always looking for room to learn, grow, and create.
